DATA PRIVACY NOTICE FOR BYE BYE BUGS

Last Updated:  November 2023

INTRODUCTION

Bye Bye Bugs is a mobile application (“App”) that has been developed by Pfizer Limited in collaboration with UK Healthcare Professionals for use by UK Healthcare Professionals treating infections in hospitals. The App is made available to you by Pfizer Limited.

The free education game covers the following:

  • Some of the principles of antimicrobial prescribing and stewardship
  • A virtual hospital environment where you can make decisions on patient treatment
  • Information on appropriate antibiotic prescribing and the consequences of inappropriate treatment such as hospital super-infections and antimicrobial resistance

You can play the game individually, compete with peers or use it as a teaching tool.

PERSONAL DATA

“Personal Data” is data that identifies you as an individual or relates to an identifiable individual.

No Personal Data is required in order for the App to function; however, you have the option to provide Personal Data, which is collected only if you choose to provide it in the App, such as when choosing your username or when push notifications are enabled.

Your information may be collected automatically when you use the App. Such information may consist of the following:

  • Username. You are encouraged not to provide personal information through this username.
  • Identifier. We collect anonymous play metrics (which levels played, session length, number of sessions etc.). An identifier is used to identify playsessions.
  • With Push Notifications enabled, a third party service provider will store your Instance ID, to identify your device when sending messages.

The default role in the App is the user who creates his/her own account. In addition, every  user can nominate other users as his/her “proxy” user. A proxy user can access the App on behalf of the nominating user to support him/her. The proxy role can access most of the functionality of the App for the nominating user, except for photos and audio recordings. By making a user your “proxy” you provide your consent to us that the “proxy” user may process data on your behalf.
